The Squad Expands
July 2, 2009 - We’re confirming today the addition of two new cast members: Andrea Hughes and Justin Goldberg. Hughes will be coming on for an undisclosed number of skits; the exact nature and breadth of her role have not yet been determined. Goldberg is coming on in a dual role, as writer and recurring character. The Squad is thrilled to have these two on board.
Who We Are and First Production Blog
First, a little bit about ourselves. The idea started when Hartwyk wanted to chronicle the tales of his superhero friend, H-Man. Suddenly, he, Drew, and I were coming up with storylines, new skit ideas. Thus we were born. Our style is sketch comedy with a bit of improvisation thrown in. Amateur Christopher Guest, or I guess closer to College Humor Originals.
We filmed our first sketch 2 days ago. It’s still intensely in rough cut, and when my camera finally decides it’s ready to behave itself, we can start the editing process.
Sketch 1, “H-Man” [tentatively titled], was “written” and directed by Andrew Hartwyk and features the following characters (in order):
Ryan Crowley - Frustrated guy
Drew Crowley - Frustrated guy’s brother
H-Man - himself
